In opening scene of “I Am Legend” Will Smith’s character Dr. Robert Neville cuts around a deserted New York City in a red 2007 Shelby Mustang GT500 SVT. And it seems like Dr. Neville a pretty good driver, too, as he powerslides the Mustang through corners steering with one hand while lining up a fleeing deer in the sights of his M4 at what must be 70 mph!!!
Mustang fans might be disappointed when of disappointed to learn that after that scenes, the GT500 doesn’t make another appearance and the “hero car” for the remainder of the film became black Ford Expedition. But if “I Am Legend” opening scene does not sell you a Ford Shelby GT500 then we not sure what will.
Did you know what a scene showing Robert Neville procuring the GT-500 from the Manhattan Ford dealership was filmed but cut from the theatrical release?
